Congratulations to our PhD student Nanang Qosim
Congratulations to our PhD student Nanang Qosim on successfully passing his viva!
Thesis title: "Manufacturing of Core-Sheath Structured Fibres Using Pressure-Spinning for Drug Delivery Systems"
Reflecting on his PhD journey at UCL Mechanical Engineering, Nanang shared:
"Passing my viva is a moment I will always remember. After years of hard work, challenges, and perseverance, I feel both relieved and truly grateful to have reached this milestone. My heartfelt thanks go to my supervisors, Prof Mohan Edirisinghe and Prof Gareth Williams, for their invaluable guidance and support throughout my PhD. I am also deeply thankful to my family, friends, and colleagues for standing by me throughout this journey, and to LPDP (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan - Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education) for making this opportunity possible.”

Supervisor Professor Mohan Edirisinghe said:
"Well-deserved success and my many congratulations to Indonesian scholar Nanang. It was a pleasure to be his primary supervisor. Nanang forged a very productive collaboration between UCL MechEng and UCL School of Pharmacy, resulting in many high impact interdisciplinary journal papers and international conference presentations. He brought the concept of multi-layer pressure spinning to a new level, harnessing its benefits for drug delivery while incorporating the use of sustainable natural materials. I am sure he will shine in his academic career in Indonesia. I also thank the Government of Indonesia for funding Nanang’s research. "
Nanang is also the 54th doctoral student to complete their PhD at UCL Mechanical Engineering under Professor Edirisinghe’s primary supervision.
👏 Congratulations Nanang on this well-earned accomplishment!
